This beautiful scene is the setting for McConkey's Market. Washington Crossing Historic Park is the location where George Washington crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Eve to surprise the Hessians in Trenton. The market takes its name from the historic McConkey Ferry Inn, parts of which date back to 1750. The building represents a typical country inn or tavern of the Revolutionary era. Tradition has it that George Washington ate at the Inn prior to his crossing of the Delaware River.
The market will be nestled around the historic park buildings. To learn more about the park visit www.washingtoncrossingpark.org.
